More than a hundred residents of Talcahuano enjoyed the Violeta Parra and Víctor Jara Symphonic concert offered to the community by the Municipal Youth Orchestra of the Port, at the Madre Paulina gymnasium, at the Inmaculada Concepción School in Talcahuano,

This is the third concert that the musical group, directed by maestro Jaime Cofré, performs free of charge for Talcahuano residents, thanks to an agreement signed between Blumar and the municipality of Talcahuano, through which the fishing company committed its support to the activities carried out by the Municipal Youth Orchestra during the 2016 season.

This activity is free and open to the community. The concert also featured singers Marianela Camaño and Feliciano Saldías accompanying the orchestra musicians, who performed songs such as “Thanks to Life” and “The Right to Live in Peace” by Violeta Parra and Víctor Jara, respectively, which the attendees enjoyed with great enthusiasm.

The orchestra’s season includes five free concerts for the port community, whose ultimate goal is to bring classical music to different sectors of Talcahuano.

The first was held on June 25th at Cristo Salvador Parish in Talcahuano. Almost a hundred residents from the Gaete and Libertad Norte y Sur neighborhoods attended. The second was presented on July 16th at Nuestra Señora del Carmen Parish, also in Talcahuano, attended by more than 100 residents from San Vicente and Partal. In both, the repertoire included works that scored films and well-known television series.

The next concerts are scheduled for Saturday, November 19th and Saturday, December 22nd. The latter will be a Christmas Concert to be held at La Tortuga in Talcahuano.
