• The course “ROV Pilot Operation Techniques” is taught as a result of a collaboration agreement between the educational institution and the company Blumar.

October 27, 2022. 15 fourth-year students from Liceo Capitán de Fragata Francisco Vidal Gormaz in Maullín received 50 hours of academic training in the course “ROV Pilot Operation Techniques”, taught thanks to an existing collaboration agreement between this educational facility and Blumar, which has been in effect since 2018. The certification ceremony was held this week at the educational institution’s facilities.

For Blumar, these actions are part of its  strategy and relationship with stakeholder groups, with the objective of supporting the community through multiple training programs. “We are interested in strengthening the training of students in the aquaculture specialty, helping them meet some items of the study program they have regularly. It is very important for us to keep our students updated on topics such as underwater robotics and the contribution it represents to salmon farming, as it has helped reduce the risk of decompression sickness in divers who conduct inspections”, said the farming manager, Pedro Pablo Laporte.

For her part, the specialization coordinator of Liceo Capitán de Fragata Francisco Vidal Gormaz in Maullín, Irelia Vicuña, thanked Blumar for the opportunity to provide students with tools that will help them improve their employability, noting that “it was two weeks of learning, in-person classes and practical work that has an impact on their quality of life, since many of our aquaculture specialty students go directly to the job market”.
