– The tournament organized by the Corral Flour Plant Sports Club brought together nine men’s teams and five women’s teams at El Boldo Stadium. 

            Corral, November 24, 2022. With the presence of hundreds of people at El Boldo Stadium in Corral, the finals of the new edition of the Blumar Cup took place. From October 20 to November 17, the nine men’s teams and five women’s teams that participated in this tournament came together to compete in the championship organized by the Corral Flour Plant Sports Club.

            This is a traditional tournament held by Blumar as part of its commitment to the community and sports, and in this final the winning teams were awarded by former footballer Dagoberto Currimilla, who played for Huachipato and Unión Española, and also represented the Chilean U-20 national team that achieved a historic third place in the 2007 Canada World Championship.

            The head of the Corral Plant, Carlos Jainaga, stated that “we are very happy with how the Blumar Cup has turned out, which was created to promote healthy activities and share with the community. It is also relevant because the Sports Club chose to do it with distant localities, where women also began to participate, so it has turned out to be a great initiative to promote sports for everyone”.

            For his part, Kevín García, who won the tournament’s top scorer award and was champion, noted that “the match was competitive and the tournament was very entertaining. I am very happy with the result and I would like to congratulate our rivals for the match they played. I have mixed emotions about being the top scorer, I am not used to doing this”.

            “I am very happy, for my team and for myself. This tournament was very difficult for us, as sometimes we had to come play with fewer teammates. Even so, we had a lot of fight, we were very united and that made the difference. We deserved this triumph”, highlighted the champion team player, Gabriela Vallejos.
