A good recital, as part of a series of presentations supported by Pesquera Blumar, was held by the Talcahuano Municipal Youth Orchestra at the Parish of Our Lady of Carmen in San Vicente.

The presentation attracted about 250 spectators who filled the venue, and corresponds to the second of five concerts to be held under a collaboration agreement with the aforementioned fishing company and the cultural corporation Artistas del Acero.

The agreement with Pesquera Blumar involved a donation of just over $6 million, which allowed for the acquisition of new music stands, including a cart for their transport, and the holding of five presentations open to the public. The remaining dates are “Overtures and Waltzes,” Saturday, November 19, at the aforementioned company (Avenida Colón 2400), “Christmas Concert,” December 22 at La Tortuga, and “Violeta and Víctor Symphonic,” Saturday, December 24, at the gymnasium of the Immaculate Conception School of Talcahuano (Aníbal Pinto 254).

Jaime Cofre, director of the orchestra, stated that “we had a very important turnout and the best part is that people are happy and come closer. Furthermore, investment is being made in culture, which we must highlight, because the artists of Talcahuano were considered, and this is added to the support of the mayor and his team, who have always been concerned about us.” Mayor Gastón Saavedra noted that “it was a tribute to the celebration of the Virgin of Carmen, and these children and young people were able to demonstrate all their talent and creativity so that the community can enjoy classical music.”
