– The company was recognized for its sustainability performance after being evaluated alongside more than 7,600 companies worldwide, achieving a high score in environmental, social and governance (ESG) management.
Recently, at the InterContinental Hotel in Santiago, Blumar was highlighted as a Member of the Sustainability Yearbook 2025, prepared by S&P Global, which recognizes companies with the best performance in corporate sustainability worldwide. This achievement reaffirms the company’s commitment to responsible management and high standards in environmental, social and governance (ESG) matters.
The 2025 edition of the Sustainability Yearbook evaluated more than 7,690 companies from 62 industries, selecting only 780 that demonstrated outstanding performance. In Latin America, 71 companies were recognized in Chile, Colombia, Peru and Mexico. In our country, only 28 companies stood out, among which is Blumar, thanks to its strategic approach to sustainability within the fishing and aquaculture industry.
“This recognition reflects the path we have taken as a company to integrate sustainability into our business strategy. It is not a one-time achievement, but rather the result of years of work, learning and continuous improvement,” said Blumar’s Sustainability Sub-Manager, Felipe Hormazábal.
During the unprecedented ceremony, which was held for the first time in Chile and had the presence of international representatives from S&P Global, key issues were addressed such as energy transition, ESG trends and the experience of companies in the region in the Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA), a tool used by S&P Global to measure sustainability performance.
For her part, Blumar’s ESG Management and Climate Change Manager, Estefanía Humud, acknowledged that “being part of this yearbook motivates us to continue deepening our work, especially in the challenges posed by climate change. We know that there is still much to advance, and this distinction reinforces our commitment to sustainability that is concrete, measurable and generates real impact”.
