The recognition was delivered during the Business Meeting on Productivity and Employment that the government institution held in the capital of the Tenth Region.

Blumar Salmon received recognition from the National Training and Employment Service (Sence) of Los Lagos for the training initiatives it offers to the community focused on women.

The distinction was received by Blumar Salmon’s Manager, Pedro Pablo Laporte, during the Business Meeting on Productivity and Employment that the institution held in the capital of the Tenth Region.

At the ceremony, recognition was given to 11 other companies in the area. Blumar obtained this distinction for the course that during 2016 it offered to parents and neighbors of the Mañihueico school -located in the municipality of Hualaihuué, Los Lagos Region- who received training in Cooking Techniques and Pastry Making. This workshop allowed them to start different ventures in those areas.

Pedro Pablo Laporte explained that the initiative is part of the company’s linkage program with rural schools in the south that has been carried out since 2015. This seeks to strengthen their educational projects and provide them with advice to obtain their environmental certification. The first was signed at the end of that year with the Mañihueico school and in 2016 it was extended to three schools in the Aysén Region. “The idea for the Cooking and Pastry workshop was raised by the parents themselves during one of the working meetings held within the framework of the collaboration agreement between that school and Blumar. We did not hesitate to support them because we believe that this help can make a difference in the quality of life of these women who are part of the environment of one of our operational areas”.

Training is one of the strategic lines of work that Blumar carries out with the community. For this reason, it periodically offers courses and workshops -through Sence instruments- aimed at its neighbors throughout its entire operational area.

Pedro Pablo Laporte emphasized that the company understands that training is an opportunity that should also be extended to its work teams. For this reason, they are planning to offer different training instances that will impact 70 percent of those who work in the southern area of Blumar Salmon.

From January to date, 50 company employees have participated in different knowledge update workshops to adapt to the requirements of the different regulations governing the sector, as well as to the technological advances presented by the industry.

“These are development opportunities that allow us to acquire new skills that benefit our company, but that also generate opportunities for labor growth for our workers”, he concluded.
