– During the activity they were able to tour the pontoons and learn more about the inspections and regulations required of the company. 

Magallanes, May 31, 2022. The councilors of Río Verde, Jorge Espinoza and Sergio Fortes, visited the Mina Elena cultivation center, of Blumar Magallanes, in order to learn more about the processes and resolve the different questions they had regarding national salmon farming.  

At the meeting, which lasted about 8 hours, they toured the pontoons to learn about the salmon feeding processes and learned how the work is carried out in the cages, along with the regulations required by the authorities at each center.

The production sub-manager of Blumar Magallanes, Pablo Solís, mentioned after the event that “this exercise, where we open our doors, is very important because they get to know our people, how they are developing professionally and what we do internally. Nowadays, our visitors take away an integral vision of what we really do at the cultivation centers and how we are working sustainably with the environment and people”.

“We, as a Council, are willing to continue informing ourselves and working together so that all of this develops and the community can understand how the processes and regulations we comply with work,” said Rio Verde councilor Jorge Espinoza.

While his peer, Sergio Fortes, noted that “I would like these visits to happen more frequently and that we all come together, together with the municipality, with the fish farms and with all the companies, so that we can do good things for our community”.

This visit is part of a series of invitations that Blumar Magallanes has made to both authorities and schools, so that they can learn about salmon farming and its multiple areas.
