Of the 5,700 suppliers that the aquaculture-fishing company has, approximately 70% correspond to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
The Undersecretariat of Economy and Smaller-Sized Enterprises granted the ProPyme Seal to Blumar S.A., a certification that recognizes the company’s compliance and commitment to paying invoices issued by its small and medium-sized suppliers within a maximum period of 30 days.
Of the 5,700 suppliers that Blumar S.A. has, almost 4,000 correspond to small and medium-sized enterprises, which is equivalent to 70% of the company’s total suppliers. “This is an important and diverse value chain in which various agents participate, such as artisanal fishermen, service companies, input and product suppliers. Hence the relevance that this certification means for us as a company, because it allows us to make an important contribution to the finances of almost four thousand SME companies, with whom we commit to guarantee payments within the periods that the certification determines”, said the general manager, Gerardo Balbontín.
In turn, he assured that this “demonstrates the commitment that Blumar has assumed as part of its social responsibility policy to work day by day for better coordination with the different interest groups, among which suppliers are fundamental actors”.
The executive added that the ProPyme Seal is an opportunity for the industry in general to join this initiative that has become a guarantee to improve the conditions of smaller-sized firms.

The ProPyme Seal is a certification promoted by the Ministry of Economy, Development and Tourism that aims to establish quality relationships with suppliers, improving their working capital to continue their development, generate new jobs and contribute to the growth of the national economy.
