The tour by authorities allowed them to verify the quality and seriousness with which products are handled prior to their export to international markets.

An official visit to Blumar’s Salmon Plant in Talcahuano was conducted by ProChile authorities. The objective was to learn about the processes prior to international shipments of seafood products. They were received by Blumar executives from the Fishing and Salmon areas.

Marcelo Otero, Fishing Sales Manager at Blumar, expressed that it was very important to show what the company is, what products are commercialized, and what markets we are targeting. “For our part, we requested maximum collaboration from the institution in the online product certification processes,” he said.

Daniel Montoya, Commercial Manager of Blumar Salmon, said that “I believe it was a very positive visit to be able to show everything we do. Our connection is always important since ProChile provides great services in our export activities”.

Lorena Sepúlveda, National Director of ProChile, said she was delighted by the invitation and was pleasantly surprised by the standard and technology of the plant. “I believe they are an example of internationalization, with an industry that is tremendously competitive at the global level. I am impressed by the quality, by what there is, by the seriousness and the installed technology, and by the fact that healthy, safe products with perfect traceability to the final consumer come out of here”.

Osvaldo Marinao, Regional Director of ProChile Biobío, commented that there is a long-standing relationship with Blumar, which is why it is very interesting and motivating to learn about the work at Blumar’s plant in operations. “It is highly technologized, with trained personnel, and generating a large amount of employment, producing products of great quality for major markets. It is a company that is a source of pride for the region and it is the type of company that we are interested in promoting at ProChile”.

Finally, Raúl Hermosilla, Human Resources Manager at Blumar, expressed the company’s pleasure at having regulatory entities visit the plant. “Our focus is to have our doors open to all our stakeholders and it is always a pleasure to be known by the authorities, especially by ProChile, with whom we have a close relationship”.
