– Through an agreement with Junaeb, Blumar delivers 11 thousand portions of premium salmon monthly to students from 67 establishments, consolidating an alliance with regional education that was born in 2018.

Punta Arenas, May 2026. What began eight years ago as an educational alliance is now celebrated at the tables of thousands of educational establishments in the Magallanes Region.
The María Behety Comprehensive High School was the venue for a colorful tasting where the main protagonist was Blumar’s premium salmon, which is now part of the lunch menu of the National Board for School Assistance and Scholarships (Junaeb) in the region.
This milestone allows more than 11,800 students from 67 public and subsidized schools to access a product with export standards monthly. The initiative includes the distribution of 11 thousand portions each month—equivalent to a thousand kilos of product—ensuring that locally produced salmon reaches school tables systematically.

During the event, the director of María Behety High School, Marcela Andrade, valued “this alliance that has existed since 2018 with Blumar, which has allowed our students to receive training and, since last year, regional salmon at least once a month in their lunches”.
This advance in regional school nutrition is the result of Blumar’s recent award to supply protein to the School Feeding Program (PAE), being the first time that a regional export product is integrated under this scheme.
In this regard, the regional director of Junaeb Magallanes, Natacha Carrasco, highlighted “Blumar’s contribution, considering that this is not the first tasting fair that has been held and in the previous tender we did not have salmon considered within the menus. We highlight the permanent presence regarding product consumption in this and other establishments in the region”.
The product delivered consists of premium Atlantic salmon fillets with skin vacuum sealed, 100% regional, harvested from centers in Río Verde and Última Esperanza and processed at the Punta Arenas plant.
Pablo Solís, manager of Blumar Magallanes, expressed the company’s pride in this milestone. “Since 2018 we have had a link with María Behety High School, and today what better than to have salmon, a superprotein, on the students’ tables. We are proud, it makes us happy and we hope to continue achieving more milestones in the future with the high school and with other entities for the community of the region. We want salmon to become increasingly present on the tables of people in Magallanes,” he said.
Finally, the regional secretary of Education for Magallanes, José Raúl Alvarado, highlighted “this agreement between business and education is a cause for joy and, of course, also a commitment as the Education Secretary to continue working tirelessly for the well-being of our students”.
