Blumar’s office in Puerto Montt received a visit from a French delegation, with the aim of showcasing its technological level in salmon production and exploring future opportunities for cooperation in areas such as automation and artificial intelligence.

The event was organized by the Embassy of France in Chile, and the delegation also included the company Bioceanor and the French Research Institute for Digital Sciences and Technologies (Inria). On the company’s behalf, the meeting was led by the Technical Management of Salmon, headed by Esteban Ramírez, along with executives from the remote feeding room.

Impressions of the delegation
During the tour, French representatives learned about the monitoring systems and the high level of the local industry. In this regard, the French Ambassador to Chile, Cyrille Rogeau, highlighted: “I was very impressed by the level of technology they have. It is something impressive (…) I think it is a good image of Chile, of the level of sophistication and precision that some of the country’s major companies can have”.

The diplomat also emphasized that the experience of French companies in artificial intelligence applied to salmon farming generates “good cooperation options and good prospects”.

Technological linkage
The technical exchange focused on how automation and data modeling can be integrated into the current operation of the industry. Esteban Ramírez, Technical Manager of Salmon at Blumar, explained that the event “was an opportunity to showcase and discuss with them their ideas about where automation could go, the use of modeling, artificial intelligence, and how that could be a service that could eventually be articulated at some point for the industry or for Blumar”.

The visit is part of the “On-site Visits” program, through which Blumar showcases its facilities to authorities and communities, reaffirming its commitment to transparency and collaboration between the public and private sectors.
