This alliance, which began in 2016, has allowed 2,300 residents of the port municipality to attend free concerts offered by the youth group. The company, for its part, provided financing so that the orchestra could have professional equipment for its presentations.
For the third consecutive year, Blumar reaffirmed its commitment to promoting culture in Talcahuano through the agreement that supports the work of the Municipal Youth Orchestra of the port city.
This public-private alliance that the company signed with the Municipality of Talcahuano and the Corporación Artistas del Acero emerged in 2016. Its objective is to promote the strengthening of the musical group, led by maestro Jaime Cofré, so that it continues to bring its art to different corners of the municipality.
Blumar’s support has been materialized through financing for the purchase of professional equipment, such as music stands and chairs, plus other elements that the orchestra requires for its presentations.
The agreement for the 2018 season of the program, which was called Difusión por el Puerto (Dissemination Through the Port), includes the organization and presentation of three free concerts that will be performed by the group. The first will take place on June 22, at 11 in the morning, at San Vicente School in Talcahuano; the second, on September 7, also at 11 o’clock, at Liceo C 25 in the port. The last presentation of the season will be the Christmas Concert, on December 15, at 7 p.m., at the La Tortuga Coliseum.
COMMITMENT TO CULTURE
The mayor of Talcahuano, Henry Campos; the manager of the Corporación Cultural Artistas del Acero, Arnoldo Weber, and Blumar’s Head of Sustainability, Felipe Hormázabal, participated in the signing of the agreement. The latter expressed that since they signed this alliance three years ago, approximately 2,300 residents of the municipality have enjoyed the performances carried out by young local talents. “In total, together we have organized eight concerts, two of them Christmas concerts, which have stood out for their massive attendance, especially the 2017 Christmas Concert, held at the Tortuga in Talcahuano, which brought together a thousand people to enjoy Christmas carols”, Felipe Hormázabal recalled.
The executive added that these figures demonstrate that this public-private alliance has been not only successful, but also fruitful. “And that is the reason, in addition to the commitment we have to this group of young people and their director, that motivates us to be here again renewing our commitment to this orchestra, but also to culture”, he concluded.
