– The activity brought together more than a thousand children in the Strait of Magellan and once again had the company’s support, reaffirming its presence and connection with the local community.

With a turnout that exceeded one thousand children, the Illustrious Municipality of Punta Arenas held this weekend the traditional Chapuzón Kids 2026 on the shores of the Strait of Magellan. The activity, created so that the youngest can be part of the emblematic tradition of the Strait’s Chapuzón, has had Blumar’s support since its first edition.
The event, which annually brings together families from Punta Arenas and its surroundings, has become a true symbol of local identity. The mayor of Punta Arenas, Claudio Radonich, highlighted that it was a family celebration and extended his gratitude “to the Chilean Navy, Carabineros, Firefighters, municipal staff, but above all to Blumar, which once again contributed to making this a wonderful celebration”.
The manager of Mercado Blumar, Trinidad Amézaga, valued the high turnout and the spirit of the day. “We are happy to participate another year, we enjoy providing snacks and seeing the children’s enthusiasm in the contests. We hope to continue supporting this type of activities in the coming years”, she said.
For his part, the regional manager of Blumar Magallanes Salmon, Pablo Solís, emphasized that “being part of this event reflects our commitment to Magallanes. Seeing so many children enjoying this tradition fills us with pride and reaffirms our conviction to continue supporting initiatives that strengthen ties with the community”.
During the event, the children shared their enthusiasm and highlighted the challenge of entering the water despite the low temperatures, describing it as an entertaining tradition that they hope to repeat.
The activity had extensive inter-institutional coordination. Carabineros personnel conducted traffic control and secured the area; Navy officials worked from the water demarcating the perimeter through the deployment of boats and divers; in addition to Public Safety personnel, Firefighters and municipal teams, ensuring the proper development of the day.
