– The company generated new business opportunities in different markets and exhibited the advances it has developed over the last few years, with products of excellence and hand in hand with sustainability.
Vigo, Spain, October 6, 2023. Blumar, a Chilean fishing and salmon company, participated in the twenty-fourth edition of the Conxemar International Trade Fair for Frozen Seafood Products in Vigo, Spain, where it presented its products to the thousands of people who visited the exhibition organized by Conxemar.
The commercial manager of Salmones Blumar, Daniel Montoya, commented that “without a doubt it has been a great trade fair. We are having many meetings, very interesting ones, with current and potential clients. It is a trade fair that year after year has been gaining more importance, it is one of the main annual events here in Europe, so we are very happy”.
He added that precisely, “our objective at this trade fair is to seek new clients, and we are also working with a promotion plan for our Laguna Blanca brand, which is salmon farmed without antibiotics and with superior sustainability credentials”.
The product manager of the Frozen Pelagic Products area, Pedro Aguilera, stated that “this trade fair has been growing year after year, and we as Blumar have been growing in participation. We started at this trade fair with a stand through ProChile and given the need for space and growth, because the client portfolio, especially in Europe, in the frozen jacks area, has been growing so progressively over time, we have had to expand”.
He indicated that “this trade fair opens up a world of opportunities for us to access different markets in which we traditionally operate, such as Africa”, and added that “at this trade fair there are good opportunities”.
For her part, Blumar’s market manager for Europe, María Iglesias, expressed that the office that Blumar has had for 8 years in Spain “is very important for the attention of Europe’s clients, since it is located in a strategic port like Vigo, which is the gateway for the rest of the countries. Vigo has always been a very important focus at this meeting. Here we can advance in the development of new products. We must continue to bet on this type of events to continue growing”.

On the eve of the trade fair, Blumar’s Sustainability submanager, Felipe Hormazábal, presented at the congress organized jointly by Conxemar and the FAO, which focused on the need to rethink the value chain of seafood products to achieve a sustainable food system both socially, economically and environmentally.
