Blumar’s work in environmental, social and governance dimensions ranked it among the industry leaders in S&P Global’s Sustainability Yearbook, following an evaluation of more than 7,690 companies globally.
In its twenty-first edition, S&P Global’s Sustainability Yearbook highlighted companies with the best sustainability performance in each industry, following an evaluation of more than 7,690 companies worldwide. Blumar is one of the 780 companies that stood out in the yearbook.
Sustainability Yearbook members are selected based on their score in the Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA). To be featured in this publication, companies must achieve a score within the top 15% of their industry and, additionally, achieve a score that is less than 30% away from the score of the best-performing company in that industry. In the 2025 Sustainability Yearbook, 26 food companies were highlighted worldwide, with only three Chilean companies from that industry.
“This new recognition compares our sustainability efforts with those of thousands of companies around the world, and is a reflection of our progress on this path of continuous improvement. However, it also gives us great responsibility to continue improving our sustainability practices and implementing major changes in favor of the environment and business,” commented Blumar’s Sustainability Manager, Felipe Hormazábal.
In the CSA, the company obtained 73 points in 2024, achieving a 74% increase in its score over three years, which means it is the Chilean fishing company with the best performance, and the second salmon farming company with the best performance. Thanks to these results, Blumar is within the top 3% of food companies with the highest score (97th percentile).
“This tool has allowed us to test our sustainability strategy, which is integrated into our business strategy and, above all, give meaning to our ESG efforts, with measurable goals that impact society and business. Undoubtedly, these results reflect the enormous work of the people who work at Blumar,” noted Blumar’s CEO, Gerardo Balbontín.
