Concepción, April 8, 2025. Blumar this afternoon reaffirmed its commitment to extend for as long as necessary the logistical support it is providing to find the missing crew members of the Bruma.

“We understand the pain and difficult moments experienced by the families of the missing crew members. That is why, today the priority is to find them and thus allow families to find comfort in this painful moment they are experiencing”, said Blumar’s CEO, Gerardo Balbontín.

The executive explained that, given that the vessel Cobra has been identified in connection with this tragic accident, they took several measures.

∙ The company has also supported search efforts by making available several underwater robots with a reach of up to 800 meters deep and fish finders, with cutting-edge technology.

∙ All available information has been compiled and delivered to the corresponding authorities, understanding that for the affected families it is essential not only to find their loved ones, but also to clarify everything that happened with this accident.

∙ Likewise, it has been in constant contact with the crew of the vessel Cobra, who has shown complete willingness to cooperate. “It has not been easy for them, since they do not have certainty about their eventual participation in the accident”, despite the fact that many take it for granted that it was involved.

On this matter, Balbontín reaffirmed the great concern that exists regarding the disappearance of Juan Sanhueza, crew member of the vessel Cobra. “We are deeply distressed and concerned, and we maintain the hope that he may return soon. We have been actively collaborating in search efforts, efforts that will also continue”, he stated.

Finally, Balbontín added that the company will continue to provide full cooperation to the investigation being conducted by the Public Ministry, because it is also very relevant that all the facts be clarified.
