This is an agreement with the company DeliBest Chile, Junaeb’s concessionaire, which will provide rations to the boys and girls. “We are proud that the salmon we produce is accessible to students,” the company said.
Through an alliance with DeliBest Chile, Blumar now reaches the children of the Bernardo de Bruyne School in Río Verde, who in their Junaeb feeding program receive a highly nutritious product such as salmon.
“We are very happy with Blumar’s contribution to this innovation in the students’ minutes. It gives us the opportunity to show them local products and to go beyond what they are used to eat,” says the teacher in charge of the school, Berenice Bravo.
The deputy production manager of Blumar Magallanes, Pablo Solís, explains that the milestone is possible thanks to an agreement that the fishing and salmon company signed with DeliBest Chile, which provides Junaeb with food services.
“What is better than this alliance benefiting the children of Río Verde, which is the commune in which we have all our salmon production. We are proud that the salmon we produce is accessible to the children of the Río Verde school,” he says.
The regional head of the food company DeliBest Chile, Margaret Ayala, comments that “it is satisfying to see that the children liked it, that it is an innovative and nutritious product for them. This agreement with Blumar, which result after a few months, is positive for the Río Verde community. The children are happy.”
The regional director(s) of Junaeb, Gerardo Mancilla, is also enthusiastic: “For us as an institution it is very important. We are happy that the children can enjoy something local like salmon, which is produced here, and which is also of very good quality.
For her part, the mayor of Río Verde, Sabina Ballesteros, indicates that “we have talked so much about these productive actors that are so important for the region, at some point we had 40% of the regional export of the aquaculture sector and it was very illogical that our citizens could not consume it.”
“With the desire that Blumar can get closer to the community, today we can celebrate this important milestone with the educational community. “We are very happy to be part of this and to contribute with this grain of sand,” he says.
