– The program, which completed its third consecutive year, allowed young people specializing in industrial food processing to strengthen their work skills through workshops, professional mentoring, and field-based internships.
For the third consecutive year, Blumar, together with San Sebastián University (USS) and the Bicentennial Carlos Haverbeck Richter High School from the Corral municipality, successfully concluded the job placement program aimed at senior students specializing in industrial food processing.
The initiative, which included 15 hours of specialized workshops, provided fundamental tools for the future job placement of young people, including resume writing, development of personal value propositions, and simulations of job interviews with specialized psychologists.
“We are very pleased and proud to have completed this job readiness workshop, in which professionals from San Sebastián University, as well as Blumar workers, contributed so that these young people have adequate preparation and tools for their personal and future professional lives,” said Blumar’s Sustainability Sub-Manager, Felipe Hormazábal.
The program also included visits to Blumar’s facilities, where students learned about productive processes and the regulatory framework governing the industry. Additionally, they were presented with concrete opportunities to complete their professional internships at the company.
The director of the Carlos Haverbeck Richter High School, Luis Cárdenas Paví, highlighted the program’s positive impact: “In these years that we have been working together, they have allowed our students to acquire more tools for their future employment. We follow up with our students and these skills allow them to be better prepared when they enter companies”.
The students themselves valued the experience. José Cristóbal Sepúlveda, a student of Technical Industrial Food Processing, stated that “we are very grateful to Blumar and San Sebastián University for their willingness and for providing us with this knowledge, which for high school and at our age is a privilege”.
For her part, Diana Mellado, also a student in the program, emphasized that the internship “was a very enriching experience for my knowledge. The job interview simulations and the visit to Blumar allowed us to learn about the industry and its processes from the inside”.
