– The initiative was carried out by the food engineer and teacher from the University of Playa Ancha, Nelda Rodríguez, with the participation of students from hotel services, gastronomy and aquaculture from the educational establishment. 

            The salmon farming company Blumar held the fifth edition of the food safety course with the participation of students from hospitality, gastronomy and aquaculture from Liceo María Behety. This activity is part of the collaboration agreement between both institutions, aimed at strengthening students’ knowledge and promoting salmon farming in the region.

               The training was conducted by the food engineer and teacher from the University of Playa Ancha, Nelda Rodríguez, who emphasized that “the students were participative and left with the idea of being able to continue growing, interested in some prior learning they had through this training”.

For his part, Blumar’s Production Sub-manager in Magallanes, Pablo Solís, indicated that “we are happy to participate for the fifth year in this initiative, because we have had a long-standing relationship with the school and we are interested in being a relevant actor within the territory where we work. We hope that students can develop vocationally through these instances, as well as acquire new skills for the future”.

 “The course was quite interactive and reinforced many things I already knew and also others that I am going to learn and will continue studying. I believe that when I start working, what I have learned will be very useful for my development”, clarified student Bastián Lillo.
