Its objective is to support the work that 11 professionals from the Foundation carry out in five schools in this area.

Blumar and Enseña Chile signed a collaboration agreement that will support the work developed by this entity in educational establishments in the Aysén Region, to help improve the quality and relevance of education received by children and young people who attend them.

Enseña Chile is an organization that since 2008 has prepared young professionals from different fields to work for two years as teachers, full-time, in vulnerable educational establishments throughout the country. In the Eleventh Region, the Foundation is present in five schools -two in Puerto Aysén and three in Coyhaique-, where 11 of its professionals work as teachers in the areas of mathematics, English, history, physical education and school coexistence.

The agreement was signed by Blumar’s general manager, Gerardo Balbontín, and Enseña Chile’s executive director, Tomás Recart, who explained that the alliance between the company and the foundation he directs stems from the common interest in contributing to the development of the country’s extreme regions and from the conviction that opportunities for Chileans can be improved from the classroom.

Within this framework, the agreement will also allow for the organization of two seminars, one in Puerto Aysén and another in Coyhaique, where representatives from Enseña Chile, Blumar and different actors from the regional educational community will participate, to gather information about the needs and expectations they have regarding the education they expect for students in the area.

Blumar’s general manager, Gerardo Balbontín, added that the company’s sustainability strategy defined relationships with communities as one of its development pillars and that as part of this challenge they assumed the commitment to collaborate with education delivered in extreme areas where the company also has its operating area. “We believe this is an opportunity to contribute to the education of Aysén students, through young professionals who have been carefully selected and trained to provide their students with quality education that motivates them to continue developing in an environment of improvement,” he concluded.
