Santiago, August 24, 2026. With the aim of contributing to the training and employability of incarcerated women, Blumar signed a collaboration agreement with Corporación Abriendo Puertas. The partnership is part of the company’s commitment to gender equity and women’s empowerment in the workplace, in line with the Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs), promoted by UN Women and the United Nations Global Compact.

The relationship between Blumar and Corporación Abriendo Puertas began in 2025 through the collaboration and funding of vocational training courses at the Santiago Women’s Penitentiary Center, together with the technical training organization Promueve SpA.

Blumar’s Chief Executive Officer, Gerardo Balbontín, stated: “Blumar’s Gender Equity Policy includes supporting women in the communities where we operate. This partnership with Corporación Abriendo Puertas, and its work with incarcerated women, is a way to provide them with practical tools by offering training courses to support their reintegration into the workforce.”

Blumar’s Deputy Human Resources Manager, Natalia Alfaro, added: “Strengthening women’s professional development and reducing the gender gap are key pillars of the company’s People Strategy. Through this partnership, we are advancing our goal of reducing disparities between men and women across all areas of the workplace.” She also noted that the company plans to support similar training courses in Concepción and Puerto Montt.
