Puerto Montt, October 13, 2022. The Latin American Summit for Fishing and Aquaculture Sustainability has begun its third edition in Puerto Varas. The initiative, which takes place for the third time and counts on the participation of companies and representatives from more than 20 countries, aims to present and discuss commitments and projects in Latin America to boost sustainable seafood products.
On this occasion, Blumar presents in its booth the various projects it is carrying out in the territories where it operates, among which stand out its alliance with Ecológica, as a result of which it has managed to handle more than 800,000 kilos of waste in a circular economy scheme; the agreement with Bureo, which has allowed 120 tons of fishing nets to be converted into renewable energy for the San Vicente shelter; and Blumar Circular, which consists of the treatment of plastics and solid waste for recycling.

The event seeks to promote and accelerate the development of Latin American fishing and aquaculture sustainability, as well as promote the various sustainable initiatives of regulatory bodies, supply chain actors and consumers, through sessions, conferences and panels.
