With the intention of supporting Hospital Las Higueras in Talcahuano in the face of the health crisis we have faced globally and as a country, the aquaculture and fishing company Blumar Seafoods made a donation of personal hygiene items intended for the unit of patients affected by Covid-19.

The donation consisted of adult diapers, wet towels, moisturizing creams, dry shampoo, razors, among other items, an estimated contribution of more than 1 million pesos, which will facilitate the hygiene of patients affected by the virus.

Regarding this, Dr. Patricia Sánchez, director of Hospital Las Higueras in Talcahuano, stated with respect to the donation that “we are neighbors and among neighbors we help each other. We are enormously grateful to the Blumar company for these much-needed donations for people who have been hospitalized and isolated from their families, whether due to close contact or simply due to the difficulty of visits. Six months of pandemic, where our teams continue working for the benefit of people’s care, so these supplies have been of great support”.

The request arose as a result of the quarantine situations in the area, which prevents family members from visiting their sick, many of whom are bedridden as a result of the disease.

Felipe Hormazábal, Sub-Manager of Safety and Occupational Health at Blumar, commented that the company knows the reality of Talcahuano. “Regardless of Covid or not, we have a relationship with the hospital, our workers use its services, which is why we are happy to support our neighbors and be able to collaborate with those who need it most in the face of this situation that affects us all. As a company we did not want to stop being present”.

It is worth noting that throughout the first half of the year Blumar has maintained close contact with all its neighbors, listening to and meeting hygiene and food needs, which have come from homes, schools, churches and health centers, mainly.
