• The company was recognized by ACHS after achieving 98% compliance in audits of its facilities during 2021.

Blumar Magallanes took an important step in occupational safety and health matters following recognition from the Chilean Safety Association, which recognized the company for the 98% compliance obtained in the certification of the ILO Standard Occupational Safety and Health Management System, thus becoming the first company in the region to achieve this recognition.

The system, based on the guidelines of the International Labour Organization, implements 12 essential processes, which seek to excel in the preventive management of work accidents and occupational diseases, protecting the occupational health of workers.

“The audit, which was conducted during the first semester and concluded at the end of last year, resulted in 98% compliance. We are proud that Blumar is the first company in Magallanes that complies with this standard, and with such a good score, which positions it as a company at the highest level of occupational safety and health management system”, commented Andrés Crisosto, Commercial Operations Manager of ACHS Magallanes.

For his part, the Production Manager of Blumar Magallanes Salmon, Pablo Solís, highlighted that “there is great work behind this recognition, especially from the Executive Committee, which from the beginning of Blumar Magallanes has been working to position safety as one of the main values within the company. We thank ACHS for the path we have developed together and this strategic alliance, always with safety as the main objective for our workers”.

“These results obtained in this certification help us more strongly to achieve our organization’s objectives, placing greater emphasis on safety, which in our industry, inherent to what we do, is quite complex due to operational issues and climate factors. This helps our employees foster self-care and thus reduce the incidence of accidents”, mentioned the Head of Production Area of Blumar Magallanes Salmon, Alexis Castillo.

In turn, the Head of Safety and Occupational Health of Blumar Magallanes, Marcelo Concha, added that “it is a relevant milestone and concludes a process, but this certification marks the beginning. We had a low accident rate, but we are certainly seeking zero accidents and today it challenges us to continue working and seeking new ways to achieve this greater objective”.
