Talcahuano, May 10, 2022. Blumar launched a new information platform aimed at artisanal fishermen working with the company, called “Artisanal World Portal”. This will feature stories, news and data of interest to artisanal fishermen, benefiting more than 1,300 people.

The company’s Operations Manager, José Ocares, commented that “together with the Catholic University of the Most Holy Conception, we conducted an information gathering with the artisanal community; that was when we wanted to develop a platform where they can access all relevant information related to their area, such as unloading points, paperwork tips and procedures, spare parts, suppliers, quotas, among others”.

He added that “we want this to serve as a help, which we will develop in stages and will serve to digitize the information we currently have on paper. We want to foster the relationship of trust, closeness and continuity that we have with artisanal fishermen, being commercial partners in the short and long term”.

For his part, the head of the Artisanal Fishing Area, Hugolino Navarro, indicated that “for Blumar, the artisanal world is very important in its process, so we have had a direct relationship for many years. Having a communication channel is an opportunity to inform and strengthen ties, as well as allowing them to see that their work is reflected in family stories and a life linked to the sea, we seek to make them visible in this space”.
