BLUMAR IS THE SECOND LARGEST COMPANY WITH THE BEST PAYMENT RECORD TO SMEs IN THE COUNTRY

Investors & Financial News

The Association of Entrepreneurs of Chile (Asech) together with the Chile Products Exchange (BCP) quarterly prepare and disseminate information about the payment terms for invoices that large companies make to SMEs for service provisions. The measurement carried out in the fourth quarter of 2017 positioned Blumar as the second best company in the ranking and the first in the Food sector.

“Being among the best paying companies in the country for SMEs is in line with the company’s objectives and our Board of Directors, which has tasked us with becoming a world-class company in the fishing and aquaculture industry,” emphasized our General Manager, Gerardo Balbontín, in response to the excellent position obtained by Blumar in the Payers Ranking prepared by the Association of Entrepreneurs of Chile (Asech) in conjunction with the Chile Products Exchange (BCP).

In the period from October to December 2017, Blumar ranked in second place in the measurement, with a score of 93 points, well above the 67-point average achieved by the Food sector to which it belongs and leads.

The objective of this report is to disseminate concrete information about the timeframes in which large companies in the country pay their invoices to their SME suppliers, to encourage sustainable financing and a reduction in such timeframes.

Gerardo Balbontín explains that to be considered a world-class company, certain conditions must be met, including being good payers, especially focused on small and medium-sized enterprises that make up almost 80 percent of our suppliers, in order to be on par with companies operating in the most demanding international markets. “These measures consider their application throughout our entire production and commercialization chain, from the spaces where we carry out our most basic operations, to the markets where we sell our products abroad.”

A demonstration of this commitment is the ProPyme Seal that both the Fishing and Aquaculture divisions have maintained since 2016. “This milestone is very relevant for our company because the financial liquidity of our small and medium-sized suppliers allows them to focus their efforts on specific aspects of their activity and not on obtaining financing that in the long term weakens them and ultimately impacts their operations,” he added and assured that for this process Blumar has the involvement of its executives in the relationship of trust with suppliers, not only in the financial sphere, but also in their occupational health and safety management.

“For us at Blumar, this position in the ranking reflects our commitment to doing things right and achieving better engagement with our different stakeholder groups, among which our suppliers occupy a fundamental place considering that if we want to grow and generate value, it must be together with them,” he concluded.

At the consolidated level, the company reported increases in revenue, pre-fair value adjustment EBITDA, and net income during the second quarter and first half of 2026, driven primarily by the fishing segment and the recognition of U.S. tariff refunds in the salmon segment. On a year-to-date basis, the aquaculture segment remained below the results recorded in the first half of 2025, although it showed a recovery during the second quarter.
