– The milestone comes a year and a half after the company opened its fish farm in the municipality and reinforces its commitment to the community and the environment.
“When we decided that this was where we wanted to start operating, we asked ourselves if we had the ability to generate value, to not be indifferent to what matters to the community and the environment. Thus, we saw in this space a great opportunity to develop something that transcends, to not be simply an installation on the edge of a river, but to have an installation with people upstream and downstream”.
Blumar’s Freshwater Manager, Wido Martínez, described this way the collaboration between the company and the community that made it possible to recently inaugurate a sports fishing station in Puyehue.
The milestone comes a year and a half after the opening of Blumar’s first fish farm in the municipality of the Los Lagos Region.
“We developed this space together with the community, with whom we discussed ideas and materialized a beautiful project, which seeks for people to get to know us and for fishermen to be able to develop their work in a much more comfortable and safe way, in direct interaction with us”, said Martínez.
The president of the Puyehue Sports Fishing Association, Cristián Llanquepe, noted that “this is work that has been underway for a long time, as well as the friendship that has been generated with many people from Blumar, through the fishing sector. From there, certain activities and milestones like this one were materialized, which benefits the entire community of Puyehue, kayakers, boaters, sports fishermen, and so on. We are very grateful”.
The mayor of Puyehue, Jimena Núñez, expressed that “we are very happy to participate in this inauguration, in which Blumar partnered with the Entrelagos boaters to create a meeting point and continue developing this beautiful activity that is sports fishing”. The space also features panels of local flora and fauna, where visitors have the opportunity to spot birds and learn more about the typical flora of the area.
“I believe that the public sector and the private sector must be united, continue working together and continue caring for these environments. We have a municipality that has everything, where thousands of people live. That they have this meeting point, I think is wonderful. I congratulate Blumar for this initiative, for the space provided”, highlighted the mayor.
Blumar’s Communities Manager, Francisca López, stated that “this inauguration is very significant, because the Sports Fishing Association of the Pilmaiquén River participates. This reflects the community relations work we are developing in the municipality, where we are also linking with the Puyehue Aquarium, Corporación Impulsa, the municipality and other entities that have been part of this beautiful milestone”.
“We are very happy to begin this path of community relations with these communities, which came together not only in the making of this place, but also in the design of usage protocols and other elements. We are confident that this work will bear very good fruit, because we all seek to maintain this place as a space of respect, joint work and care for the environment”, she added.
