 Corral, October 24, 2022. As part of the advances in odor treatment that Blumar is implementing, the company held an inauguration ceremony at the Corral plant with municipal authorities, neighbors, executives and employees.

This is the incorporation of a new stage to the existing system, with equipment developed by the company that, through absorption, neutralization and oxidation processes of gases, allows significantly reducing the odor levels generated in the fish meal and fish oil production process.

            Blumar’s fishing operations manager, José Ocares, stated that “during this event we were able to celebrate two major milestones. The first one is related to the inauguration of the improvement of the odor treatment system at the Corral plant, where we have implemented an improvement that we already developed in the eighth region, with the idea of mitigating the impacts on our neighboring communities.  In addition, we inaugurated a training room, which we want to be a meeting space with our employees and community and where we want to start conducting training and activities with them”.

            For his part, the Director of DIDECO of the Corral municipality, Pedro Gacitúa, mentioned that “for us Blumar is one of the most important companies in the municipality and one that generates the most employment here. The fact that it is taking measures to mitigate some negative effects such as the odor issue is essential, so we reiterate our congratulations to the company for taking this type of initiatives and putting them into concrete actions, which go directly to improve the quality of life in the territory”.
