– The official visited the company’s facilities and highlighted its high standard in fundamental areas, such as environmental protection.

As part of its commitment to transparency and community development, Blumar held its first meeting with recently sworn-in Corral mayor, Claudio González.

The meeting took place at the fish meal and oil plant that Blumar operates in the municipality, and was led by Fishing Business Manager, Ignacio Mir; Fishing Operations Manager, José Ocares; and Sustainability Sub-Manager, Felipe Hormazábal.

The mayor, who began his term on December 6th, appreciated the invitation and highlighted the company’s presence in the municipality. “Blumar, with its plant in Corral, are neighbors and a strategic institution for us as a municipality. As a local government, we are committed to local economic development and Blumar’s plant fulfills our purpose in that sense. Without a doubt, it is a strategic entity for us to continue talking in the future,” he stated.

González emphasized that “the plant has state-of-the-art technology in relation to environmental protection and gas emissions. As a councilor of the municipality in a previous period, we inaugurated the plant’s new facilities. During the tour we saw that the facilities have a high quality standard, and that benefits our neighbors in Corral”.

For his part, Blumar’s Fishing Business Manager stated that the meeting was very productive, as they strengthened ties with the new municipal leader, aimed at local development. “Public-private collaboration is fundamental to positively impact the quality of life of residents, with actions aimed at promoting economic growth in Corral, where we have been present for more than 25 years,” said Ignacio Mir.

The official’s visit took place within the framework of “Visits on Board,” an initiative that Blumar has developed since 2023 to showcase its facilities to authorities, in an effort to highlight transparency and collaboration between public and private sectors.
