• The company participated as a sponsor at the Aquaculture Solutions Meeting of Aysén through the exhibition “Traveling Sustainability in the Territories”, where it highlighted the projects it has developed and the contribution that the connection with local suppliers has meant. 

                The 2023 Aquaculture Solutions Meeting brought the salmon farming sector together once again. More than 500 people attended the Aysén sports complex to learn about new initiatives being developed in the productive sector and success cases from various companies and SMEs, among which was Blumar, represented by the Sustainability Sub-Manager, Felipe Hormázabal, as well as the team from the Purchasing and Supply Sub-Management, who traveled specially to the region to establish bonds of trust and project future challenges.

                “Traveling Sustainability in the Territories” was the name of the presentation made by the salmon farming and fishing company, where the company addressed the main indicators of its Integrated Report, specifically the projects it has developed in the territories where it works, which have benefited more than 1,000 people specifically in the Aysén region.

                Furthermore, the Sustainability Sub-Manager announced the work carried out in the Aysén Region, where projects have been implemented in three municipalities, with more than 20 local organizations that have benefited around one thousand people. Among the most outstanding are “Integrated Multitrophic Aquaculture”, in conjunction with the University of Aysén and artisanal fishermen, as well as “Blumar in your School” which benefits four schools and 60 students.

                “We are very pleased to be able to participate in this important fair for this area and also for national salmon farming, where we have made known the work carried out and that has generated a positive impact in local communities. Aysén is a very important territory for us, where we see many opportunities to continue generating added value together with the community,” said Blumar’s Sustainability Sub-Manager, Felipe Hormázabal.

                For his part, the company’s Purchasing and Supply Sub-Manager, Nelson Pérez, noted that “last year purchases of more than 4 million dollars were generated in the Aysén region, both for supplies and services. For us as a team, supplier development is based on generating trust and long-term relationships, which is why it was very gratifying to share with our current and potential suppliers in Aysén, who are looking to grow together with the salmon farming industry, which presents multiple opportunities for them”.
