• With 100 attendees and over 30 musicians on stage, Blumar, the Municipality of Talcahuano, and the Talcahuano Youth Orchestra renewed their cultural collaboration agreement at the Dante Theater, in an event marked by the talent of the commune’s Youth Orchestra and the Derecho UdeC Big Band.

A vibrant and emotionally charged day took place in Talcahuano thanks to the joint concert by the Talcahuano Youth Orchestra and the Derecho UdeC Big Band, two outstanding groups that offered a spectacular performance full of talent, energy, and connection with the audience at the Dante Theater.

The event drew close to 100 people and brought together over 40 musicians on stage, establishing itself as a significant event in the city’s cultural life. In this context, the collaboration agreement between Blumar and the Municipality of Talcahuano, in effect since 2016, was reaffirmed with the support of Artistas del Acero.

Thanks to this alliance, the Talcahuano Youth Orchestra received new musical equipment, in addition to funding to hold two concerts open to the community: one featuring movie music and another with a Christmas repertoire—scheduled for year-end—.

“It fills us with pride to motivate the young people who are part of the Talcahuano Orchestra. This is an activity we have promoted together with the municipality for several years, and we are very happy to continue supporting culture through these initiatives,” said Blumar’s Human Resources Manager, Raúl Hermosilla.

Within the Youth Orchestra of the commune, Cristina Calzadilla expressed that “music is always a way to transmit feelings. I have been in this field for several years, so to speak, and it is a pleasure to be on stage”.

For his part, the director of the Derecho UdeC Big Band, Daniel Freire, thanked the opportunity to perform alongside the Youth Orchestra “in this emblematic place in the region. It is a breeding ground of many years from which many musicians have emerged and who today are members of our Big Band. It is very positive that public and private organizations support culture; it is a constant struggle we artists face. We hope these bonds will continue to strengthen”.

At Blumar, support for music was also expressed by its own members. Here, Blumar’s Administration and Finance Manager, Manuel Gallardo, who is also a Big Band saxophonist, highlighted the company’s commitment to culture. “For us, it is very important to be closely connected with the community, especially with children and young people who are learning music. Being able to support and project their development in the world is very rewarding”.

Meanwhile, the Community Development Director of the Municipality of Talcahuano, Cristián Campos, emphasized the importance of the company’s support. “For the municipality and the administration of Mayor Eduardo Saavedra, the work that Blumar does in strengthening local culture is very relevant. The renewal of this agreement will allow many families to have better conditions to continue being linked to the arts, especially in a fishing commune like ours, where the support of the private sector is key,” he stated.
