– The Family Run of the Month of the Sea, which brought together more than 2 thousand people and offered three tours, once again had the support of the company born in the commune. One of its managers ran a 10K and highlighted the family atmosphere of the event. 

Under a clear sky, with great enthusiasm and a family atmosphere, this weekend the emblematic Sea Month Family Running took place in Talcahuano. More than 2 thousand people gathered at Puerta Los Leones to kick off the three routes: 2K, 5K and 10K. 

Like every year, the 32nd version of the marathon paid tribute to the Naval Glories. The commune of Talcahuano has a special connection with this historical event, since 90 years ago it hosted the Huáscar, the turret ship that played a crucial role in the Pacific War.

The link between Talcahuano and Blumar is almost as long as that of the commune with Huáscar. The company’s Fishing Business Manager, Ignacio Mir, expressed that “we are very happy to participate with our families and teams in this event in the commune where Blumar left. We have been neighbors for 75 years. In our sustainability pillar, it is essential to support sports, family gatherings, and healthy living. This is the commune in which we have the most facilities, therefore we are proud to support this event and we will be happy to continue supporting it in the future.” 

Mir was one of the runners who participated in the 10K. “I am an amateur runner, I was very struck by the high level of the people from the Navy and many other runners who had a very high level. On all the routes there was a very family atmosphere, I saw many parents and children running together. “It is tremendously valuable,” he commented. 

The mayor of Talcahuano, Henry Campos, stated that “we thank Blumar and all the companies that have committed to the activities of the Municipality of Talcahuano. Companies are also neighbors, who collaborate, help and promote countless artistic, cultural and sports activities, like this one.”
