This comes after the signing of the agreement that will lead Ventisqueros to control 50% of Blumar USA.

After it became known this Thursday, September 29th, that Ventisqueros and Blumar signed the agreement to materialize the first company’s incorporation into the ownership of Blumar USA, LLC, both companies publicly expressed their satisfaction.

In a joint statement, they emphasized that they will commercialize through this subsidiary (Blumar USA) all of their salmon production in the United States and Canada. They pointed out that with this alliance, they seek to supply the North American market with Chilean salmon and trout in a more stable and continuous manner, and also seek to expand and deepen their current customer portfolios. Blumar -through its subsidiary Blumar USA, LLC- has been operating since 2012 in Miami, with a commercial platform to supply salmonid products to both nations, which currently consume more than 420,000 gross tons of salmon equivalent to 18% of world production.

The two salmon farming companies agreed that in an initial stage they can achieve annual sales of more than US$150 million, managing to supply -as they stated in the statement- “in an integrated manner and with a high level of service to different clients”.

In that line, the general manager of Ventisqueros, José Luis Vial, assured that “the experience and deep knowledge of the American market that Blumar has developed in this time will allow Ventisqueros to access a greater number of retail and food service clients, with a more complete, stable and continuous offer”.

For his part, Gerardo Balbontín, who is general manager of Blumar S.A., stated that “thanks to this agreement, the company will be able to provide better service to clients and thus achieve leadership in the commercial positioning of Chilean salmon in the important North American market”.
