Courses in Aesthetic Care of Hands and Feet and Driving to obtain Class B License were part of the training offer that benefited almost a hundred people.

A group of 99 residents of Talcahuano received the diplomas certifying their

participation in training courses offered by the company Blumar and the National

Training and Employment Service (Sence) of the Biobío Region, through the

Labor Scholarships program.

In total, five courses were taught that were aimed at residents from the sectors closest

to Blumar: Libertad-Gaete and San Vicente de Talcahuano. The training offer included

training in Aesthetic Care of Hands and Feet and also Driving classes that enabled its

participants to obtain a Class B driving license.

This initiative is part of the activities that the company regularly carries out as part of

its Sustainability strategy, which is based on a work model that promotes sustainable

coexistence and the objective of adding value to the communities that are part of its

environment.

After completing their training, the students from the foot and hand care course

received a professional kit with manicure and pedicure utensils, which along with the

skills and knowledge acquired during the training become a new tool for their personal

lives, but also become an opportunity for them to access the job market.

The participants of the Driving course will benefit from the payment of the total cost

of their driving license, once they pass the exams for obtaining it.

Raúl Hermosilla, Human Resources Manager of Blumar, explained that as its name

indicates, these Labor Scholarships aim to improve employability competencies through

a training offer aimed at those looking for work for the first time or those who for

different circumstances find themselves without a source of employment.

“Since we began working with Sence in this program, Blumar’s objective has been to

direct this benefit towards our neighbors, as we understand that our role as a company

also involves looking out for the well-being of the community where we are

established”, said Hermosilla.

The Regional Director of Sence Biobío, Daniel Jana, highlighted that through the Labor

Scholarships program, work is being done on a new concept of training for employment,

which arises from the union of the company, neighbors and public institutions: “We know

that this effort produces results and also, that the training we offered to this group of

neighbors who today receive their diplomas is an opportunity to change lives through

the provision of tools to reduce the inequality gap that exists in the country”.
