BLUMAR AND ITS SUBSIDIARY SALMONES RENEW PROPYME SEAL

Industry & Global Standards

Following a review process conducted by external auditors regarding transactions with SME companies that occurred during the period between January 1 and December 31, 2017, Blumar and its subsidiary Salmones renewed the ProPyme Seal that they have maintained since 2016 in both the fishing and aquaculture areas.

The ProPyme Seal is a certification granted by the Ministry of Economy to those companies that accepted the commitment to pay invoices from their small and medium-sized suppliers within a period not exceeding 30 days, a commitment that is audited annually by an external institution that certifies compliance with that requirement.

Among the requirements demanded by such certification, it stands out that the company must have a percentage equal to or greater than 5% of smaller supplier companies in relation to the total number of its suppliers.

It must also pay at least 95% of invoices issued by its SME suppliers, without any type of charge, withholding, discount, commission or other charges to invoice assignees within 30 calendar days from receipt.
