Blumar’s history began in the late 1940s with the founding of Pesquera Itata, followed by the establishment of Pesquera El Golfo in the 1960s. Over the following decades, both companies underwent sustained expansion, modernization and growth, including acquisitions, entry into the capital markets and diversification into retail and aquaculture.
In 2011, the two companies merged to form Blumar, creating an integrated, resilient and innovative company rooted in maritime tradition and committed to nourishing people while honoring the ocean.
