He began his career in 1986 as Plant Manager at the Talcahuano facility of Pesquera Itata S.A. (now Blumar S.A.). He has held the positions of Regional Manager and Chief Executive Officer of the company. In 2011, he became Chairman of Blumar S.A. and a Director of its subsidiaries, returning as Chairman of the parent company in May 2018, a position he continues to hold to this day.

During the last 16 years of his professional career, in addition to serving as a Director and currently as Chairman of Blumar, he has played an active role in industry associations, serving as President of prominent regional and national fishing organizations, including PIBB and Sonapesca. During his tenure, the SPRFMO (South Pacific Regional Fisheries Management Organisation) also became operational. Today, it comprises 17 countries from Asia, Europe, Oceania, and the Americas, including Chile. The organization plays an active role in managing several fisheries, including Chile’s principal fishery resource: jack mackerel.

Additionally, he serves on the Boards of Directors of the subsidiaries Salmones Blumar S.A. and Pacificblu SpA, as well as the associated companies Frigorífico Pacífico SpA, St Andrews Smoky Delicacies S.A., and El Golfo Comercial SpA. He is also a member of the Asociación de Industriales Pesqueros (Asipes) A.G. VIII Región and serves as a Director of Sinergía Inmobiliaria S.A., Sociedad de Inversiones Petrohue S.A., and Agroindustrial Siracusa S.A. Furthermore, since 2011, he has been a member of the Board of Directors of Pesquera Exalmar in Peru.

Between 1987 and 1991, he worked as an independent attorney for Distribuidora de Gas Codigas S.A.C. e I., Distribuidora de Gas Enagas S.A., and insurance companies. Subsequently, between 1991 and 2000, he served on the Boards of Directors of Financiera Atlas S.A. and its subsidiaries, as well as Banco Solventa S.A. (Peru).

Since 2001, he has provided advisory services to companies in the energy, real estate, and fishing industries, in addition to serving as an advisor to family offices. Since 2000, he has served as Manager of Inversiones Marte SpA and, since 2010, also as Manager of Inversiones Trigas Cuatro S.A.

With a long and distinguished career in industry associations, he served as President of the National Agricultural Society (SNA) from 2000 to 2005 and of the Confederation for Production and Commerce (CPC) from 2013 to 2015. He currently serves as an Honorary Advisor to both organizations.

He has also served on the Boards of Directors of the Association of Pension Fund Administrators (AFP) and Puertos y Logística S.A., acting as Chairman of the Board in both organizations. He has also served as President of the Corporation for Social Development of the Rural Sector (Codesser), Vinitech Latin America, Radio Agricultura, and Cotrisa. In addition, he has served as Vice Chairman of the Chilean Safety Association (ACHS) and has participated in various boards of directors and business organizations.

He serves on the Boards of Directors of Inversiones Norte Sur S.A., Viña Los Vascos S.A. and the subsidiary Salmones Blumar S.A. He is also Vice Chairman of the Chilean Safety Association and Chairman of the Molina Agricultural School, as well as a member of the councils of CLAPES UC and the Infrastructure Policy Council.

He has also served on the Boards of Directors of Fundación Chile, INACAP, Wines of Chile and the Chilean Association of Pension Fund Administrators, where he served as Chairman.

Between 1987 and 1997, he worked at Fast Air, serving as Chief Executive Officer and North America Manager, based in Miami, USA. He subsequently joined LATAM Airlines, where, between 1997 and 2015, he served as Chief Executive Officer of LAN Cargo and Chief Executive Officer of the Passenger Division, later serving as Corporate Chief Executive Officer from 2012 to 2015.

He then served as Senior Vice President of Commercial and Operations from 2015 to 2017, with responsibility for LATAM’s commercial and operational management, including its subsidiaries and TAM Airlines.

He served as Chairman of the Board of Correos de Chile (2018–2022); Director of SAAM (2018–2024), where he served as Chairman of the Directors’ Committee; Director of Aviasur (2018–2024); and Director of LAN Perú (2015–2017) and Multiplus (2015–2017). He currently serves on the Boards of Directors of Kitchen Center (since 2018) and Travel Security (since 2023).

He is a senior partner at Rojas & Asociados Consulting. Until March 1997, he served as Macroeconomic Programming Manager in the Research Division of the Central Bank of Chile, where he worked for 12 years and also held the positions of Chief Economist and Senior Economist.

Between 2001 and 2003, he was a member of the Antitrust Resolution Commission and previously served on the Distortions Commission. He has also worked as a consultant for the World Bank and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) in several Latin American countries and has participated in various technical and regulatory bodies.

Between 2011 and 2012, he worked at the investment bank Larraín Vial as a Corporate Finance Analyst. From 2012 to 2015, he served as a Corporate Finance Associate at Empresas Sutil, where he participated in the analysis and execution of the group’s new investments. During his final year at Empresas Sutil, he took responsibility for the administration and finance area of one of its subsidiaries. Subsequently, prior to pursuing his MBA in London, he worked as an Investment Associate at Grupo ECC, a family office with interests in the retail, energy and gas, fishing, and real estate sectors.

He is currently a Partner at Qualitas Energy, a Spain-based private equity fund focused on investments in the global energy transition. He is responsible for the firm’s global strategy and oversees investments in Chile, the United Kingdom, and Poland. He has led more than 30 M&A and financing transactions totaling over €5 billion.

He serves on the Boards of Directors of several companies managed by Qualitas Energy, including a renewable energy developer in the United States, a biomethane platform in the United Kingdom, and a hydropower consolidation platform in Chile.

Between 2021 and 2024, he worked at Inversiones Odisea, a company dedicated to managing the assets of the Piñera Morel family, first as an Investment Analyst and subsequently as an Associate, participating in the management of an equity and bond portfolio focused on Latin America.

Between 2024 and 2025, he worked at Blumar S.A. as a consultant, focusing on team structuring and leading continuous improvement initiatives within the fishing business. He also served as part of the Salmon Business Transformation team, acting as the internal counterpart to McKinsey & Company on a strategic project, coordinating joint efforts and supporting the implementation of key initiatives.
